THE FUTURE IS GIRLS

The Future Is Girls project empowers girls from disadvantaged backgrounds to become future leaders, addressing the significant challenge of teenage pregnancies in Zambia, particularly in North Western Province. Teenage pregnancies are a major obstacle to girls’ education, with 28% of girls aged 15-19 having begun childbearing. This phenomenon is often linked to limited access to education, poverty, and cultural norms. Our project provides comprehensive support, including girl child scholarships, mentorship programs, support for teenage mothers to return to school, comprehensive sexuality education, and reproductive health services. By empowering girls to stay in school and make informed choices, we reduce the likelihood of teenage pregnancies and create a brighter future.
